Asset management project – Coordinated storage solution
Move Client – Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW)-Stoughton
Move Location – Stoughton, Massachusetts
Move Timetable – February 2024
The lowdown
The VFW-Stoughton sold it’s former location at 837 Washington Street and is planning to move into the old Knights of Columbus at 14 Seaver Street, Stoughton. The VFW is renovating the 14 Seaver Street location, which will be ready in May 2024.
Why it matters
The VFW faced two challenges:
- Storing the contents of its old location that were making the move to the new one;
- Needing a place to store new items being ordered for the new location
- Having members do the bulk of the packing
The Solution
- BTI coordinated with Eagle Leasing to deliver a 40-foot storage container to the parking lot the 14 Seaver Street location.
- BTI provided packing materials for items that could be packed.
- BTI conducted a workshop, training staff and members on how to pack, mark and label items. The BTI TEAM loaded the container tightly – This included leaving enough space for new items to be stored as they came in.
The Big Picture
The moveout was completed on February 9. The VFW will complete the buildout for the new location in May. BTI will assist with moving and installation of the existing furniture and placing items into the new location.
BTI also arranged to source three Mosler 4-drawer fire files from a client who was moving their office the previous week. These will come in handy at the new location. The best part? It was at no cost to the VFW.
Straight from the source
“During the renovation of the VFW-Stoughton’s new location, we initially wanted to put everything from the current location in storage. Many movers might have said okay and gladly accepted the business. George came back with a better solution—leasing a 40-foot storage container and putting it in the parking lot at the new location. So right away we knew we were working with a mover of impeccable integrity and superior knowledge. And that was our experience all the way through.”
